Wells Fargo Bank Statements: How to View, Download, and Export Activity

Wells Fargo bank statements are in the Statements & Documents section of Wells Fargo Online and the Wells Fargo Mobile app. They’re PDFs, and for deposit accounts such as checking and savings, up to seven years of statements are available online. Wells Fargo doesn’t charge to receive statements online.

The steps below are based on Wells Fargo’s online statements FAQ and account activity FAQ as of October 2026. This guide is independent and isn’t affiliated with Wells Fargo. Menus can change, so check those pages if something looks different.

How to view and download Wells Fargo statements online

  1. Sign on to Wells Fargo Online.
  2. Select Accounts, then Statements & Documents. The link may appear as Statements and Docs.
  3. Choose the account and the time period.
  4. Open the statement and save it as a PDF.

You can select only one statement at a time. Wells Fargo suggests saving each file with a descriptive name and a .pdf extension so you can find it later. To print, use your browser’s print function.

How to get statements in the Wells Fargo Mobile app

  1. Sign on to the Wells Fargo Mobile app.
  2. Select Menu, then Statements & Documents.
  3. Choose the account and the document you need.

How far back Wells Fargo statements go

Wells Fargo lists these periods for online statements:

Account typeStatements available online
Deposit accounts, such as checking and savingsUp to 7 years
Home mortgage, trust, and managed investment accountsUp to 7 years
Credit cards, home equity lines of credit, personal loans, and lines of creditUp to 2 years
Auto loansUp to 12 months

The exact availability for each of your accounts is shown in Statements & Documents. If a statement isn’t available online, contact Wells Fargo customer service for a copy; the statement FAQ lists 1-800-869-3557. Ask about any fees before you order.

Tax documents

Tax forms such as 1099s are in the same section. In the app, select Menu, then Statements & Documents, then Tax Documents, and choose the account, the document type, and the tax year. In Wells Fargo Online, start from Accounts, then Statements and Docs, then Tax Documents.

Review each statement

Look over each statement when it’s ready. If you see a transaction you don’t recognize, contact Wells Fargo promptly. Under federal rules, you generally have 60 days after a statement is sent to report an unauthorized electronic transfer that appears on it, and waiting longer can limit your protection.

Statements for a closed account

Wells Fargo says statements for a closed account may be available to view, download, or save for about 90 days after the account closes. Download everything you’ll need before then. After that, contact customer service.

Paper statements

To switch between online and paper statements, use Manage Delivery Preferences in Statements & Documents. On joint accounts, the delivery preference applies to all account holders. If you go back to paper, later statements arrive by mail.

Download account activity as a spreadsheet

For data you can sort and total, download your account activity:

  1. In Wells Fargo Online, choose the account, then select Download Account Activity under the Accounts tab.
  2. Confirm the From and To dates.
  3. Select Comma Delimited (ASCII, Spreadsheet).
  4. Select Download and save the file.

By default, the download covers the last 90 days. Wells Fargo says checking, savings, and money market account history is available for up to 18 months, line of credit and installment loan history for up to 24 months, and credit card history for up to 90 days or 300 transactions. Wells Fargo also mentions Quicken Web Connect as a download option.

What to do with the file:

Convert a Wells Fargo PDF statement to Excel or CSV

Activity downloads reach back 18 months for checking and savings, while statements go back up to seven years. For older periods, convert the PDF statement instead. Our converter reads a PDF bank statement and exports the transactions to Excel or CSV. Upload the PDF you saved from Wells Fargo Online rather than a scan, and compare the converted totals with the statement’s summary.

Wells Fargo says its online statements are official documents, the same as the paper statements it mails. If a lender or landlord asks for a statement, send the original PDF, unedited. Our guide on how to get a bank statement covers other options.
