Bank of America Bank Statement: How to View, Download, and Order Copies
Bank of America statements are available as PDFs in Online Banking and the Mobile Banking app, under Statements & Documents. You’ll get an email when each monthly statement is ready. If you need a statement you can’t see online, you can order a copy, and Bank of America says it keeps statements for up to seven years.
The steps below are based on Bank of America’s statements FAQ as of October 2026. This guide is independent and isn’t affiliated with Bank of America. Menus can change, so check the FAQ if something looks different.
How to download a Bank of America statement in Online Banking
- Log in to Online Banking.
- Go to Statements & Documents, under the Accounts tab.
- Choose the account and the statement.
- Open or download the PDF.
If a statement won’t download, Bank of America suggests trying a different browser. For credit cards, its FAQ says to open the card’s account details page and select the Statements & Documents tab.
How to get a statement in the Mobile Banking app
Bank of America says statements are available in Mobile Banking as well as Online Banking. For credit cards, its FAQ points to the Statements & Documents link in the Account Management section. After you select a statement, you can download, print, or email it, depending on your phone’s apps and settings. For checking and savings, open the account and look for the same Statements & Documents option, or use Online Banking if you can’t find it.
How far back Bank of America statements go
Bank of America’s pages give two figures. Its FAQ says you can view, print, and download up to 18 months of statements at any time, while the statements page in Online Banking says up to seven years are available in Online and Mobile Banking. What you see may depend on the account. Either way, statements that aren’t listed can be ordered going back up to seven years.
How to order older statements or paper copies
- In Online Banking, go to Statements & Documents under the Accounts tab.
- Select Request statements.
- Order an electronic copy, or select Order a paper statement copy to get one by mail.
According to Bank of America’s FAQ:
- You can order copies of statements from up to seven years ago.
- Electronic copies are delivered online free of charge. They’re ready 24 to 36 hours after your request and stay available for 7 days, so download them promptly.
- Paper copies are mailed 7 to 10 business days after you submit the request.
For an older mortgage or home equity line of credit (HELOC) statement, Bank of America says to contact customer service or visit a banking center.
Paperless and paper statements
There’s no fee to go paperless. To change how you receive statements:
- In the app: Menu > Go Paperless
- In Online Banking: Profile & Settings > Paperless settings
For eligible accounts, you can switch back to paper statements at any time.
Check images
Bank of America says statements with check images are available online, and it keeps check images for up to seven years from the date they post to your account. To look at a single check, select the account from the Accounts tab, then select the check on the Activity tab. If you get paper statements, there’s no fee to have check images included.
Downloading Bank of America transactions
Bank of America’s help pages also describe downloading transactions for use with financial management software, and Small Business Online Banking supports QuickBooks Web Connect downloads. The file types offered depend on the account, so check the account’s activity page in Online Banking for a download option.
If you end up with a Quicken (.qfx) file but use QuickBooks, our QFX to QBO converter turns it into a file QuickBooks Desktop can import.
Convert a Bank of America PDF statement to Excel or CSV
Statement PDFs are easy to read but hard to sort, filter, or total. Our converter reads a PDF bank statement and exports the transactions to Excel or CSV. That’s useful when you want to:
- Total a category of spending for your budget or taxes
- Find every deposit from one source, such as an employer or client
- Reconcile your account against your own records
- Pull older transactions that are beyond the reach of an activity download
For the cleanest results, upload the PDF you downloaded from Bank of America rather than a scan of a paper copy, and compare the converted totals with the statement’s summary.
Keep the original PDF as your official record. If a landlord or lender asks for a statement, send that file unedited; changing a statement is fraud. For other ways to get statements from any bank, see how to get a bank statement.
